Torcul
Your Word manuscript as a KDP print PDF, EPUB and cover
Torcul typesets a Word (DOCX) or Markdown manuscript into a print-ready PDF interior, an EPUB that passes EPUBCheck and a cover sized to the final page count. It shows how each heading was read, so you can correct it before layout, and you see every page before you pay. Three interior designs, eight trim sizes from 5×8 to 7×10. Free checkers for KDP files run in your browser with nothing uploaded. $29 per book, paid once, no subscription.
Hi Product Hunt,
Torcul is for authors who self-publish on Amazon KDP and have a finished manuscript in Word.
You upload the DOCX (or Markdown). Torcul first shows how it read the structure, with the reason each heading was taken as one, so a wrongly read chapter title can be fixed before anything is laid out. Then you choose a trim size and one of three interior designs, and see every page.
If you buy, you get a print PDF, an EPUB that passes EPUBCheck, a cover sized to the final page count and a 20-page paper proof to print at home.
What is free: building the book and seeing every page, plus six tools that run in your browser with nothing uploaded: checkers for the print PDF, the cover size and EPUB accessibility, margin and spine calculators, and a structure review.
Price: $29 per book, paid once. No subscription, no sign-up.
What it does not do: it is not a writing app, and it offers three designs, not a theme library.
I would like feedback on two things: was any heading in your manuscript read wrong, and is anything in the PDF checker's report unclear?
