Every time I needed a quick tool — check word count, encode something in Base64, calculate EMI on a loan — I'd Google it, click the first result, and spend the next 30 seconds closing popups, waiting for ads to load, or getting redirected to a sign-up page. Just to use a calculator.
It happened so often I finally got frustrated enough to build my own. The rule I set for myself: every tool has to work instantly, no account, no data leaving your browser. That's it.
What surprised me while building it was how many of these tools people search for daily — BMI, currency converter, password generator — and almost none of the top results are actually good experiences. There's a real gap between 'it works' and 'it's pleasant to use
