I'm Andrew, founder of dearnode. I built toolmate.io because I kept Googling "mic test", "click speed test", "keyboard tester" — and every result was either an ad farm or a sketchy site asking me to download something to test... my own mic.
So I made 24 browser-based tests in one place. They run in your tab, never upload anything, and don't ask for an account.
A few I'd start with:
🖱️ CPS Test (/test/mouse-click) — click as fast as you can for 5s. The honest one — no inflation.
🎤 Mic Test (/check/microphone-test) — see your real dB level + frequency. Catches the "is it muted?" 90% of the time.
🎹 Color Vision Test (/test/color-vision) — Ishihara plates. Mostly built for me — I'm partially red-green colorblind.
⌨️ Keyboard Test (/check/keyboard-test) — every key, plus N-key rollover detection.
🎮 Hearing Range (/test/hearing-range) — find the highest frequency you can still hear. Aging humbles us.
The site is 14 days old, ad-free for now (AdSense pending). Some tools are deeper than others — I'm polishing CPS first, then Mic. Long-term plan is to build out the technique pages (jitter click, butterfly click) and the per-mouse hardware guides.
