### Hey Product Hunt 👋
I used to calendar every hour of my week, trying to plan out every minute of my life. As you'd expect, it wasn't sustainable, and I gave up after a few months.
But I kept wondering: **what if I could just see exactly how I spent my time each week?** I'd know where I got distracted, what I actually accomplished, and where I could be more productive.
For the longest time, nothing did this well. Screen recording tools were either too privacy-invasive or so heavy they'd drain your battery all day.
So I built **Timeslicer.**
It takes your scattered computer activity and, using our task inference engine, shows you exactly what tasks you worked on, for how long, and when. From there you can export it all to the AI of your choice to dig into how you spend your time, where you get distracted, what you could delegate, and what you're actually getting done.
Everything is stored locally. We can't see your tasks. And there's a lot more coming.

the "block by specific content and specific page, not just a whitelist" idea from your first launch already sold me on the concept, and turning that same watching into a self-writing diary is a smart pivot. one question on "everything is stored locally, we can't see your tasks" though - does the task inference engine that turns raw activity into named tasks run entirely on-device, or does it call out to a cloud model to do the classification? if it's the latter, "we can't see your tasks" would still be true for Timeslicer specifically, but the classifying model's provider would be seeing raw activity data even before the export-to-AI step you mentioned.
@hotslicer Intriguing. I have set it up. I am interested to know, after learning what I do, does it time block as well? Like finding optimal work times, that would be very cool.
