I'm Aswini, a solo indie developer. TimeLens is my first launch after 8 months of building.
🎯 THE BACKSTORY:
I'm an indie developer, who was working at a FAANG for 5 years. The work there seemed to be repetitive so decided to learn SwiftUI and build a product of my own. Took me 8 months to design and iterate on this.
Tried RescueTime → hated that my screen time lived on their servers
Tried Rize → $276/year felt absurd for time tracking
Tried Freedom → kept disabling it when I "needed" to check social media
I wanted: automatic tracking + privacy + one-time purchase + Mac-native
Couldn't find that combo. So I built TimeLens.
🔒 WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT:
- 100% local storage (CoreData, zero network requests)
- Optional iCloud sync (encrypted, Apple can't decrypt)
- $39 one-time (not $20-30/month subscriptions)
- Mac-native SwiftUI (not Electron)

😅 THE INDIE STRUGGLE:
Yesterday I tried to launch:
- Reddit (r/macapps): Blocked by karma restrictions
- Twitter: Zero engagement (no audience)
So Product Hunt is my REAL launch. High stakes. Very nervous. Very excited.
💭 QUESTIONS I'D LOVE FEEDBACK ON:
1. Is $39 reasonable for one-time purchase vs competitors' subscriptions?
2. Would gentle awareness reminders (not blocking) be useful?
3. What export format do you need? CSV? PDF? JSON?
