hello Product Hunt! 👋 8 Days ago, I started building TimeDay. A small idea that grew out of my own frustration with timer tools that felt clunky, uninspired, or just plain distracting. Since then, I've been rapidly designing, testing, and rebuilding it from the ground up with the help of a few early testers (you know who you are 🙏). Today, I'm excited (and honestly a bit nervous) to finally share TimeDay with this amazing community. TimeDay is a timer extension for Chrome that appears on all pages seamlessly. Built for people who want to stay focused or dont want to check their phones to see the time. It’s still early, there’s so much I want to build. But this version? It’s one I’m truly proud of. I’d love your feedback, your ideas, and your early support. If you’ve ever wished your timer didn’t suck, try TimeDay. And let me know what would make it 10x better. Jacky

I have been looking for this kind of product for a long time, and I was thinking, "Why is nobody launching this?" I'm glad that I found this. Thank you so much for making this and congratulations on shipping so fast!

Hey, I've been searching for a long time for a good timer extension that would stay on top of my tabs!

Feedback:

  • how do I make the timer go away? Do I need to disable the extension every time?

  • I'd like the ability to add an always visible title to the timer. As a reminder for what I'm supposed to be doing like "Sort through old tasks". That's the main reason I want a timer like this, to focus on a single task without getting distracted, without making it take too long

  • The size of the timer keeps changing depending on the size of the characters (eg. it's longer for 00:00 than it is for 11:11) that's pretty distracting

  • I have no use for the date countdown. I can disable it, so it's not a big problem, but I don't see why I would need a constant date countdown on my screen

For now, even though I love the fact that it stays inside my tab, I can't really use it, because I don't have a way of quickly disabling it when I don't need it (unless I'm missing something)

A simple and minimal design. It fills a gap in your browser that you felt was missing but didn't know what it was. Nice project, good luck!
