TimeCam
Scheduled long timelapses — sunrise, stars & clouds
TimeCam turns your iPhone into a dedicated long-timelapse camera. Schedule a shoot for sunrise, starry skies, or drifting clouds — it captures frame by frame for hours or days, then composes the film on-device at 24/30/60 fps. Built for long projects: fixed intervals or a daily capture time, reference overlays for consistent framing, feature-point alignment and auto edge-cropping, plus photo import. Your photos and videos never leave your device.
I kept missing the shots I cared about — a sunrise that needed a 5am start, clouds worth two hours, the slow change of a plant on my desk. Clip-based timelapse caps out fast and nothing felt built for long, patient projects.
So I built TimeCam: schedule a capture (manual, interval, or a fixed time each day), let it run for hours or days, keep framing consistent with reference overlays and auto alignment, then compose the film on-device at 24/30/60fps. Everything stays local — your footage never leaves your phone.
It's live on the App Store today, free to try. I'd love feedback from anyone who shoots timelapse or wants to start.

Who hunted TimeCam?
TimeCam was hunted by Alex Zhang. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
