Hey Product Hunt 👋 We're back here after quite a while. We first launched ThemesFor.app on Product Hunt in 2018 with a pretty simple idea: create good-looking static website themes that people could download and actually own. We started with 4 handcrafted themes and kept adding more until the collection grew to 22. That launch somehow became #2 Product of the Day, and over the years our themes crossed 50,000 downloads and 3,000+ people subscribed to us. But downloadable templates were never quite the end goal. While running our development agency, we used tools like Webflow and, later, Framer. They're great products, but I kept wanting something a little different: a visual website builder for people who are already comfortable with the web. Something that doesn't need to hide every technical concept in the name of simplicity — and, more importantly, doesn't make the builder the permanent home of your website. So we've been turning ThemesFor.app into that. Today, TFA is a block-based static website builder. You can pick from ready-made blocks, put together and customize your website visually, and when you're finished, simply export it as HTML. No special runtime. No requirement to keep hosting with us. Take the files and host them wherever you want. You can also try the builder without creating an account because, well, you probably want to see if it's useful before giving us your email. It's still early, and there's a lot we want to build from here. But this is probably my dearest product dream: to keep working on it until it becomes a website-building tool we're genuinely proud of. Eight years after our first Product Hunt launch, we're giving it another go. Would love to hear what you think — including what feels rough, confusing, or simply unnecessary.
