I thought my problem was motivation. Turns out, I just couldn't see progress. A few years ago I started tracking workouts in my notes app just to stay consistent: Push ups in 4 minutes: 40 44 44 46 42 45 Trying to beat yesterday made exercise feel like a game. Without that goal, workouts felt pointless, just doing reps until I got tired with no real reason to come back tomorrow. Eventually my notes became chaos. Different workouts. Random scores. No way to see progress or even remember my best. So I built something for myself. At first, it was just a way to track personal records and turn effort into small challenges. But something unexpected happened. The same idea worked outside the gym. I used to hate going for walks. But once I treated it like a challenge… it stuck. Small wins created momentum. That’s when it clicked: Motivation isn’t what creates consistency. Visible progress does. When progress is visible, showing up feels worthwhile. And when showing up feels worthwhile, habits start forming naturally. Whether that’s push-ups, daily walks, drinking more water, or any habit you’re trying to build, progress changes behaviour. That idea became The PR Challenge, built around one simple belief: 👉 Progress creates motivation. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is this: I used to feel frustrated when I didn’t beat a personal record. Now I realise progress comes from the habits you build, the personal records just follow. I’m still actively improving the app and would genuinely value feedback from anyone trying to build better habits or consistency. What helps you show up when motivation disappears?
