What is The Pixel Tree Project? The Pixel Tree Project is a permanent 2,000×1,500 pixel canvas where every pixel costs $1 and every pixel sold plants a real tree. You buy pixels, upload your image, and your spot stays on the canvas forever — while a real tree gets planted in the world.
Our goal is to plant 3 million trees in 2026 — one for every pixel on the canvas. At that scale we can absorb thousands of tonnes of CO₂ annually, restore critical wildlife habitat, and create a permanent digital monument to collective environmental action.
Every year, millions of acres of forest are destroyed by deforestation, agriculture, and wildfires. Trees are one of nature's most powerful climate tools — a single mature tree absorbs up to 22kg of CO₂ per year, provides habitat for hundreds of species, prevents soil erosion, and helps regulate rainfall. Planting trees at scale is one of the most cost-effective climate interventions available.
