Hi Product Hunt!
I’m with Beyond Identity, where we're making the easy button for passkeys so you can ship the best authentication on the planet for your users, in the least amount of time.
We’re so excited to introduce: The Passkey Journey!
Here’s the thing, passkeys are powerful! They are the first and only authentication method that is both extremely easy for users (no passwords, just local biometrics), and extremely secure (phishing-resistant).
But, they’re also challenging for developer and product teams to deploy.
The Problem: Passkeys rely on a users’ device and browser supporting a standard called WebAuthn. Turns out a surprising number of users can’t use passkeys today which leaves devs, designers, and product managers scrambling to solve 30+ permutations of user experience possibilities.
The Solution: we built this free developer tool in a week, during a company Hackathon, that shows you exactly what your users’ experience will be like when you introduce passkeys.
With The Passkey Journey, you can:
📊 See the exact percentage and number of users who can use passkeys
👀 Click through UX prototypes to see exactly how your users will experience passkeys
📬 Share your custom report with one-click
⚒️ Get deployment recommendations and ready-made passkey libraries (yes, they’re Beyond Identity SDKs!)
In our first 48 hours live, we received 25+ pieces of feedback from developers and product folks, thousands of visits, and customers already using their free reports. Even Reddit was nice, which really restored our faith in humanity!
We’ve implemented the feedback, and are proud to share an even easier to use version.
Thank you so much for checking us out! I love Product Hunt and the community here. We'll be here all day and would love to hear what you think! After all, we’re building this for you. 🙏
passwordless logins and passkeys are the future of authentification.
Google recently let you access your account with passkeys rather than passwords, and Apple announced last June it will automatically assign an Apple ID passkey for users with iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma (source: TechCrunch).
The Passkey Journey is a free tool that helps you get a clear, customized report with expected UX flows and recommendations.
go passkeys!
This honestly will change the game for how long it takes to include auth and authorization into products. What game changing tech that makes passwordless logins and passkeys accessible to all. Excited to bring this up to my team during our next quarter planning!
Congrats to @jingg_n_tonic and the Beyond Identity team! Awesome to see the velocity your team has in getting something to market so fast!
Greetings! Congrats on your launch! Amazingly useful product. I'm sure it will be very popular!
Used to craft the perfect passwordless experience for users quickly and confidently. Generates free passkey report.
I'm curious to know more about The Passkey Journey and how it can help make user authentication simpler. Could you share any case studies or customer stories that demonstrate its effectiveness?
A fantastic accomplishment providing this tool, and even better, for FREE! Congrats on launching The Passkey Journey, @jingg_n_tonic, and the Beyond team!
Congratulations on launching on Product Hunt. I wish you luck in the growth and development of your product
Beyond Identity continues to impress me with their ease of implementation, integration, and UX. They're responsive to design suggestions and their support has been excellent. Passkeys are the future.
This looks cool, I’ve been talking with my team about implementing passkeys and we’re going back and forth about which platform to support first.
I'm genuinely impressed with 'The Passkey Journey'! In an era where user experience and security go hand in hand, it's refreshing to see a solution that prioritizes a seamless passwordless journey. The dedication to crafting the perfect experience for users is evident. Kudos to the team for bringing such an innovative tool to the market!
As someone who is building on Expo I'm a big fan of this! Most Passkey tools I've come across are geared towards Web, and if it's mobile it's only iOS/Android (not as much for React Native let alone Expo), so always appreciate seeing companies building on the Expo ecosystem.
Excited to try this out :)
