The Movie Hub
Self-hosted media automation controlled from your phone
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m the developer behind The Movie Hub.
I built this because I wanted an all-in-one, local-first media system that could discover, download, stream, manage, and automate a home movie library from a browser or phone.
The Movie Hub combines a Windows-first C++ backend, local WebUI, Smart Torrent, Smart Player, metadata discovery, poster artwork, queue management, automation, and private dashboard/update support into one self-hosted stack.
Current features include:
- Browser/mobile WebUI
- Movie discovery and metadata
- Download and queue management
- Streaming/playback control
- Smart Player integration
- Local library management
- Automation tools
- Windows-first C++ service architecture
- Privacy-focused local-first design
I’m looking for feedback on the first-run setup, Windows onboarding, README clarity, UI/UX, security model, and local service architecture.
The Movie Hub is intended for managing media users have the legal right to access.
