Hey everyone 👋 I’ve always loved maps and history, so I created a project that merges both. This map lets you explore where and when major human ideas were born. Would love to hear what you think - and which regions or eras I should expand next! You can explore it here 👉 https://ideas.zudiay.me

This is such a beautiful way to show how ideas travel through space and time!

Did you think about adding a “timeline view” so we could see how ideas evolve over centuries?

Amazing launch @Zudiay! 🚀 The Map of Human Ideas stood out to me because of the "I'm Feeling Curious" feature, which turns exploring history into an engaging discovery experience—something I've often wished existed in education and data visualization. Your execution with the color-coded categories and interactive map interface really sets a new bar. Congrats and excited to follow your journey!

Cool idea. Great launch!

Can we add other inventions? Maybe inte-grate from Wiki (another option) Also, adding search and filter would make it more friendly.

It's so interesting to explore the map! Congratulations on the launch! I would recommend adding a portraits of the persons, this will greatly increase engagement.

Great idea ! Nice work

You placed the inventor of photography, Niépce, in the west of France, but he actually created photography in Burgundy, near Chalon-sur-Saône (much further east).

By the way, legend has it that he got some of the elements for his invention after Vivant Denon returned from a Napoleonic expedition to Egypt, Denon happened to live right across from Niépce’s house in Burgundy. Suggesting that the Egyptians might have developed a form of photography thousands of years before Niépce’s era..

Very interesting project! Cant wait to let my kid try out leaning great human ideas!!

you can do a similar one for history. ex: A scroller in the bottom to move from one time to the other and it shows what's happening around the world during that point in time.

What a coincidence! A while back, my advisor actually asked me to explore building a map app that tracks major events in art history along a timeline—I searched around forever and couldn't find anything quite like this. Your product looks amazing. One suggestion might be allowing users to submit historically significant events or ideas that aren't yet covered, with moderation on your side. This could really enrich the content and enhance the diversity of historical perspectives on your map.

Why is Persia so blank, The Cyrus Cylinder is considered to be the first charter for human rights, something a lot of us still enjoy today...kinda.

Kudos on the launch all the same, think it's going to be my new distraction.

A complimentary list version would help. It is very congested in areas like USA and Western Europe.

This is such a fascinating way to explore history! It really puts into perspective how ideas are often concentrated in specific hubs. The visual is clean and intuitive.

The “I’m Curious” button is cool; I got through about 15 items in a couple of mins. I agree with @busmark_w_nika that adding user contributions (with you perhaps moderating manually for now) would create a continuous pipeline to enrich the map entries.

Cool idea. Great launch!
Can we add other inventions? Maybe integrate from Wiki (another option)
Also, adding search and filter would make it more friendly.

Very good idea. There are few contributions of Tunisia lacking like: Maritime trade empire and republican governance (Carthage), Strategic logistics and advanced tactics (Hannibal), and Social science foundations (Ibn Khaldun).

One major challenge with such a project would be that most history has been written in english (and sometimes pushes western focus).

The project can be better if you open submissions from people to add, and you do the review. The form can be (Name, email, Idea, Country of the idea, year, how did the idea change human history).

Absolutely love this concept — it’s like exploring the geography of human imagination! 🌍✨

Seeing where the world’s greatest ideas were born is just fascinating.

It’d be awesome to see each pin linked to a Wiki page or even an “Ask AI” feature to dive deeper into the story behind that place or idea.

If you ever consider adding an AI integration, we’d love to collaborate or support that part — it could make the experience even more magical. 🚀👏

I wonder how come you did not include not even one in Croatia 😨
Just to name a few a bit more significant ones:
Nikola Tesla - Alternating current mother of all the technology in modern times
Faust Vrancic - Parachute
Ivan Vucetic - Fingerprint identification system

Josip Belusic - Speedometer
Slavoljub Penkala - Mechanical Pencil & Fountain Pen
Ivan Blaz Lupis - Torpedo
necktie - originally worn by Croatian soldiers and adopted as fashion piece
