For AI products it's worse, because the old SaaS playbook doesn't fit. An agent makes often a dozen model calls per task, each one costs real money, and the pricing models everyone argues about (usage, outcome, credits) all rest on a number most builders never actually work out: what does one run cost me?
So I built PriceKit to answer exactly that. The honest question I kept getting while building this: why not just ask ChatGPT what to charge, or use a free calculator? You can, and you'll get a reasonable number once. But a chat doesn't know your agent's real shape, a calculator gives you one blended figure, and neither stays current when a provider cuts prices. PriceKit simulates your actual run, keeps the model costs fresh on their own, and surfaces the expensive step you didn't know you had.
