Most AI image tools are built for generalists. The Fabricant is built for fashion. It understands garment drape, texture and fit. It replaces physical sampling entirely. No factories, no shipping, no 6-week wait. Result: 90% lower content costs, 50-70% faster time to market. Bridging the gap between digital and physical through tech pack and pattern automation. Funded by the EU. Made by the team who has innovated in fashion tech since 2018.
Fashion has a dirty secret: brands produce thousands of physical samples every season that never reach consumers. It's slow, expensive, and wasteful. It's just accepted as the cost of doing business.
I founded The Fabricant in 2018 with the belief that digital could replace physical entirely. We started as a digital fashion house, proving the concept by creating garments that only existed virtually. What we discovered was that the real pain wasn't in the end product. It was in the process. Design teams were stuck waiting 6-8 weeks for physical samples just to see if an idea worked.
So we pivoted: instead of making digital fashion ourselves, we built the tools so every fashion brand could do it. The AI suite we have today lets a designer go from sketch to photorealistic e-commerce visual in minutes: no factory, no shipping, no waste.
The evolution was really listening to customers. The brands didn't want to reinvent their workflow. They wanted to slot AI into what they already do and go faster. That shaped everything: the tools are designed to feel familiar to a designer, not like a tech product they need to learn.
I love the idea, but I wonder how it would work in practice. While understanding garments is one (very impressive) thing, I presume this would not make samples obsolete (as brands would still need to check how the garment looks with the fabrics that actually exist on the market), but would minimize it? Hope you have a good launch.
