The Brains turns founders, CEOs and investors into searchable MCP servers built from their public talks, essays, interviews and posts. Ask how Pieter Levels prices, what Paul Graham says about fundraising, or how Ryan Hoover launched Product Hunt, right inside Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or Codex. Every answer quotes the source with a link. 37 brains today, one URL per brain or one for all. Free, open source (MIT), unofficial and not affiliated with the people.
hey Product Hunt, Vic here.
i use Claude and Cursor for a lot of my product decisions, and when i asked things like "how would Pieter Levels price this?" the answer always sounded confident. but i couldn't tell what he actually said vs what the model made up.
so i built The Brains. each founder, CEO or investor is an MCP server built from their public talks, essays, interviews and posts. your AI searches what they actually said, and every answer links back to the source.
what's in it today:
- 37 brains, including Paul Graham, Pieter Levels, Naval, Lenny Rachitsky, Jason Cohen and yes, Ryan Hoover
- one URL per brain, or one connector for all of them
- works in Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Codex and any MCP client
- free and MIT licensed, so you can run it yourself or build your own brain
- unofficial and built only from public material. if you're one of the people and want something fixed or removed, just email me
would love to know who you want added next and where the answers feel thin. i'm here all day reading every comment.
What if all public info is self contradictory.. still great launch.. good wishes..
great stuff, love it, congrats with the launch and thanks for making it opensource!
Really like that every answer is cited, that's the whole point. How do you handle founders who changed their mind over the years? Paul Graham in 2008 vs 2024 can give two very different answers 😄 And +1 for adding Michael Seibel.
the source date matters almost as much as the quote here
someone can change their mind and both answers will still have a valid citation
Might be the best mcp server idea I saw in a while, imagine having alex west rate your idea or improving it after his model

The Brains was hunted by Victor Giurgiu. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
