I won a grant, my first ever grant in 2025. But wanting to film a full production or even a pilot in Massachusetts, an expensive state was difficult on a budget of 5,000. I spent that year and this year trying to break into the industry but failing, Fiscal sponsors, grants, investors, local business (partly big ones). Nothing was working, and than as the year closes out, i realized why not build my own path, i thought about it for a while, a month ago decided to do it.
Hollywood blocked me out, closed the door and threw away the key. Hollywood has been lacking originality for quiet some time and it was very evident by their reoccurring shows on their long running cable network, or their endless installments, and reboots. I had something new, something original, that would create more diverse characters. instead of swapping beloved characters for diversity hires, which is what Hollywood has done forever. I am all for giving other groups representation, but when you change a character everyone grew up knowing it creates harm onto the actor, not the network.
Hollywood is very who you know, its hard to break into. and people kept telling me it was hard to break into, that i am being unrealistic. that if i keep writing, eventually it will happen or that cause i enjoy writing i should keep doing it. But looking at my work, and looking at articles, they are complete different format. I couldn't keep writing (while i love it) It would be too painful to write in a format that is a blueprint for the screen. So, i decided to continue, i'm pretty determined, and if i fail. I know i failed trying everything i possible can instead of knowing i could of tried something different and just didn't.
So i built this network to break in a window, and to fight for my stories, They are new, original, different and unique. Especially the ones that have only really been successful on Broadway. I know somewhere, someone is going to want these stories. and i wanna fight to produce them. Their real, their honest, and their not Hollywood. They mean something, and building this app was the first step to finally winning this battle.
