The Academic Digest
Stop drowning in papers. Get a calm weekly research digest.
You shouldn't have to filter 100 daily alerts just to find the one paper that matters to your research. The Academic Digest fixes alert fatigue. Get tailored, accurate and curated papers based on your niche topics in a single email every week. It gives you the main takeaways instantly, learns from what you like, and syncs directly to your Zotero workspace in one click. No clutter, no noise. Just the science you actually need to read to stay up to date in your field.
Hi everyone!
I’m a PhD student in Austria spending most of my week between the wet lab and coding. Like many researchers, my Google Scholar alerts were getting completely out of control. I was constantly drowning in information overload and always having that sinking feeling of falling behind on the latest literature. I simply didn't have the mental energy to scan through daily notification spam after a long day at work.
So, I built The Academic Digest to solve exactly this. It’s designed to be a calm, predictable system. Instead of daily noise, it selects recent, relevant papers and preprints tailored to you every week based on your specific keywords. It summarizes the core takeaways so you know instantly if a paper is actually worth your time, and you can sync the ones you need directly to your reference manager in one click. All wrapped in a single, nicely-formatted email a week.
It’s built for simplicity and accuracy, just to help us stay up to date without the anxiety. I have personally made the habit of having my Monday morning coffee while reading my weekly digest and feeling super productive already.
Also, since I made this tool to try to solve a problem for researchers (including myself), 20% of all profits go to an education-related charity once basic infrastructure costs are met. There is a very generous free tier, and the subscription perks are aimed entirely at supporting those server costs and the charity pledge.
I’d love to hear your thoughts! What is the most frustrating part of keeping up to date in your field?

The Academic Digest was hunted by Andrés Gordo. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
