Capture text from anywhere - non-selectable text in apps, images, videos, PDFs, or anything on your screen! Simple & convenient OCR tool for macOS 1. Click capture text 2. Select an area on screen with text 3. Paste the text anywhere
Hey, it's Auden, creator of Text Capture 👋
Ever tried to quickly copy and paste some text, only to realize it's unselectable or embedded in a video or image? That happens to me all the time!
While there are some solutions out there, they're often too complicated, packed with unnecessary features, or way more expensive than I expected.
That's why I created Text Capture — a simple app with an intuitive UI and straightforward pricing, designed to do one thing well: help you copy and paste any text effortlessly.
I'm building Text Capture and more in public (https://x.com/auden_pierce). I'd love to hear your feedback!
I love a system tray app! Seems it might be a tiny bit faster than ⌘+shift+3, click the image, select the text? But that's probably fast enough for me. Congrats on the launch! 🚀
Huge congrats to the Text Capture team on today's launch! I'm loving the simplicity of 'click, select, paste' - so straightforward! Quick question: Are there plans to support other platforms beyond macOS in the near future, or is the focus solely on perfecting the Mac experience for now?
Just what I needed! So tired of taking screenshots and manually typing out text from images and videos. Text Capture is beautifully simple - no bloat, just does exactly what it says. Used it to grab some text from a presentation slide yesterday and it worked like a charm. Love tools that solve one specific problem really well! 🎯
This is neat. :) I usually use for this screenshotting on mac and then preview image that enables me copy the text but in general it is around 6 – 10+ steps (when I have a messy screen and folders) :D This looks for less steps. :)
