Hi Product Hunt. I'm Ian, an indie developer of teleprompter apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac (Telepromptme, Autoprompt, DualScroll).
This is the free browser version. It exists because a lot of people need to read one script, once, on whatever machine is in front of them, and shouldn't have to install anything or hand their words to a server to do it.
Three things I'm proud of:
1. Speed is in words per minute, worked out from the real text height, so 140 wpm reads the same on a phone and a 27-inch monitor.
2. Share links: the script is compressed into the part of the URL after #, which browsers never send to a server. Send a colleague a link and they get the prompter with your script loaded.
3. It never uploads anything. I even had to switch off hash tracking in my own analytics.
It's intentionally basic. If you want recording, a scroll that follows your voice, captions or a remote, those are in the apps, and the page is honest about that.
