I’ve been a VJ for over 10 years. The show that pushed me toward TekDetek was Massive Attack — they pulled faces from the crowd onto the screens and paired them with fake job descriptions. It turned the crowd into part of the visual, and I wanted that kind of live effect to be easier to reach.
Most of the time, getting there means tools like TouchDesigner: powerful, but a long road of learning and setup before anything looks good. That’s a hard first step if you just want to start making live visuals.
TekDetek is my answer to that. It runs in the browser — no install.
