TeddyReads
Storybooks starring your child, read in your voice
TeddyReads creates custom illustrated children’s books starring your child. Upload a photo, pick a theme, and record a short clip of your voice. TeddyReads narrates the entire story in your voice, so your child hears you reading to them even when you’re not there. Read together on screen, download as a PDF, or order a printed copy delivered to your door.
Hey PH 👋 I’m Ben, the maker of TeddyReads.
I built this for my niece and nephew. They live far away and they ask to hear my voice at bedtime. I went looking for something I could make for them and wasn’t impressed with what was out there. The illustrated books felt generic, the personalization was surface level, and none of them had anything close to real narration.
So I built what I actually wanted. A proper storybook experience. Beautiful illustrations, a story where your kid is genuinely the hero, and the whole thing narrated in your actual voice. You record a short clip once and every story sounds like you reading it to them.
There are other apps in this space and I respect that. My obsession is quality across the whole thing, the writing, the art, the narration, the printed book you can hold. Every detail.
Kids don’t want a perfect AI voice. They want to hear the people they love.
Would love to hear from any parents, aunts and uncles in the community
Wonderful way to connect with your kid that doesn't require a huge investment and is super personalized
This is a wonderful way to personalize a story for a child especially but also work for an adult who might see a younger version of themselves. Graphics are beautiful and well done and the story is individualized which makes a special gift for a loved one...that will last forever
Great idea and execution. The immersion is awesome here. My friends created books for their kids and even for themselves too ^^.
