Hi Product Hunt! I’m the maker of Tax Reclaim.
I built Tax Reclaim after seeing how much foreign withholding tax individual investors leave unclaimed. When a foreign company pays a dividend, tax may be withheld above the rate allowed by the relevant bilateral treaty. Recovering the difference means identifying the correct treaty rate, finding a country-specific form, gathering the required information, and meeting a strict filing deadline.
The process is complicated, while many existing reclaim services are designed for institutions or take a percentage of the recovered amount.
Tax Reclaim makes the process self-service. Enter your residence country, the income’s source country, amount, and payment date to calculate the potential reclaim. Every rate is linked to its source, and no broker connection or personally identifiable information is required for the calculation. Tax Reclaim then generates the relevant pre-filled filing form.
We currently cover dividend and interest income across 97 countries. Calculations are free, while filing packages start at €9.99 per year. We charge a flat subscription rather than taking a percentage of your refund.
