Hi everyone, I'm Dylan, the maker of Tavi.
I've been frustrated with language apps for a while. You pay $14 a month and barely learn anything. I figured, why not use ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini for something more useful than random questions? The catch is none of them are great at structured lessons on their own.
Tavi adds the structure. You connect your ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini account and every lesson is a real back-and-forth conversation with an AI tutor that picks a topic, teaches you the vocabulary you need, and then makes you use it. It adjusts to your level as you go, and there's a placement test that figures out where you are automatically.
The other part: you pay the AI company directly instead of going through a middleman using API billing. A lesson costs less than a penny. If you use Google Gemini's free tier, it's literally free.
iOS only for now. Would love to hear what languages or lesson types you'd want to see next.

Who hunted Tavi?
Tavi was hunted by Dylan Drop. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
