Hi Product Hunt 👋

task4fun started from a very ordinary household problem: screens weren't going away, and arguing about them every single day wasn't working either.

So instead of just blocking, it trades. You pick which apps get locked. Your child unlocks real minutes of screen time by completing short tasks — maths, language, geography and general knowledge, plus an "on this day in history" question drawn from Wikipedia for the older age groups. The questions span 5 age bands, from 3–5 all the way up to an adult self-discipline mode, and the curated question bank is refreshed regularly from our own online source so it doesn't go stale.

It's Android only, in 6 languages including full right-to-left Arabic. Free to use with one app blocked. Premium adds multiple child profiles and comes with a 7-day free trial.

What we'd genuinely value today: if you try it, leave an honest rating on Google Play. We're a small independent team and Play ratings are the one thing we can't manufacture — they're what decides whether other parents ever find this at all. Even a critical one helps more than silence.

Happy to answer anything about how the unlock logic works, or why we went with earning rather than restricting.
