Apple removed Target Display Mode on Apple Silicon. TargetBridge brings it back via software — streaming your MacBook screen to an Intel iMac at up to 5K over Thunderbolt Bridge. No dongle, no cloud, no subscription. Free and open source.

Hi PH! I built this because I had an Intel iMac 27" sitting unused next to my MacBook M3. Apple removed Target Display Mode on Apple Silicon and there's no free software solution. TargetBridge uses the Thunderbolt Bridge IP to stream the screen — built with ScreenCaptureKit + VideoToolbox on the sender side. Would love feedback from anyone with a similar setup!

Who hunted TargetBridge?

TargetBridge was hunted by Marco Caciotti. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
