Hey PH 👋 I'm Matthias, the maker of TankSnap.
I built this because every aquarium app I tried felt like a chore — manually typing water values, navigating endless menus, trying to remember when I last cleaned the filter. For a hobby that's supposed to be relaxing, it was adding friction instead of removing it.
So I rebuilt the whole experience around the camera. Snap a fish, a plant, or a test strip — the app does the rest. No typing, no setup, no spreadsheets.
It's been a fun technical challenge combining species recognition, test strip scanning, and water parameter tracking into something that actually feels instant.
