TallyMsg came from a simple frustration. Every expense app made me open it, tap through menus, and fill in a form just to log something as small as a coffee. I wanted tracking money to feel as easy as texting a friend. I noticed I never forget to open WhatsApp or Telegram, so I built TallyMsg to live right there. Send a text, a photo of a receipt, or a voice note, and the AI handles the rest, picking a category and updating the budget automatically. The web dashboard is there when you want the bigger picture, spending charts, budget progress, and monthly reports, all built from messages you have already sent. I would rather do a few things well than pile on features nobody needs, so the focus stays on logging, categorisation, budgets, and insight.
love that you skipped the app entirely and just let people text their expenses in. the auto-categorisation working straight from a telegram message is a really thoughtful bit of plumbing.
Finally, an expense tracker that doesn't make me open yet another app. Just texted my lunch to the bot and it sorted it instantly, dashboard showed the category right away.
How does the auto-categorisation actually work when I just type something casual like "spent 12 on lunch with sam"? Does it learn over time or is it pretty fixed out of the box?
