I've managed my finances in desktop software for years, but when my old app moved to a yearly subscription, I got fed up. I didn't want to pay rent forever just to look at my own transactions, and the software felt slow and bloated. So I built the app I actually wanted.
TallyMint runs on Windows, stores everything in a single encrypted file on your PC, and connects to your bank through SimpleFIN. No cloud account, no tracking, no subscription.
The feature I'm proudest of is the 90-day cash flow projection. It takes your recurring bills and income and shows you exactly when your balance dips and when it recovers. No more mental math wondering if you can cover rent before the next paycheck hits.
