I built Talkup because I'm a terrible traveler when it comes to languages. I've lost count of how many times I've stood in a foreign cafe, completely frozen, unable to ask for a simple coffee. The translation apps I tried were too slow, showed me irrelevant walls of text, and never seemed to understand what I actually needed in the moment.
That frustration led to Talkup. It's not another dictionary or phrasebook. It's a context-aware tool for real-time travel situations.
How it works: Select your location (US, Korea, Italy, etc.), and Talkup surfaces ready-to-use phrases for what you're likely doing—ordering coffee, catching a taxi, or checking into a hotel.
What's different: You can tweak options like "iced," "medium," or "to go," and it instantly provides a clear, speakable or showable translation. No fumbling for words. No awkward pauses.
My goal: To make every traveler feel confident and connected, no matter where they are.
