🚀 Hello Product Hunt! 👋

My name is Tafita, and I’m excited (and a bit nervous) to introduce you to Tablextract—my very first SaaS launch here on PH.

🛠 A Bit About Me

I’m 24, and for the past few years, I’ve battled with depression—first, stuck in college studying Accounting and Research in Management, then working a boring desk job I hated.

A few months ago, I’ve decided to give everything up, took the few hundred dollars of savings I had, invested in the right tools and resources, started my company, and become an indie hacker—coding, as I’ve always dreamed of.

I’m not some big name startup or VC ventured, I’m just one small guy like a lot of people around here, wearing all the hats—full-stack developer, designer, accounting, legal, and marketing—so, naturally, Tablextract isn’t perfect yet. But I believe in the process of learning, iterating, and growing, and I’m incredibly grateful to be here sharing my passion project with you.

✨ Meet Tablextract – Your AI Table Extraction Tool

Tablextract is an AI-powered table extraction tool that can extract tables from almost any source:

  • PDFs

  • JPGs / PNGs

  • Screenshots

  • And even live photos on mobile!

This is probably a sequel from my accounting background, but I've always hated having to manually type invoices, especially recurrent ones, or when I was writing my thesis and had to manually re-transcribe a small, scanned, merged table located in the corner of a nightmare layoutted pdf.

🔥 Unique Features:

  • OCR Capabilities: Transform your handwritten or sketched table ideas into digital format.

  • Extraction Hints: Tablextract isn’t just an OCR tool—it’s smart. You can give it instructions like:

    • “Extract only the table from page 37 named genome sequencing”

    • “Include the subtotal, VAT, and total as a separate table”

    • Or even do a calculation, “Merge all these invoices into one table and create a total row” – and let it do its magic!

⚡ How It Works (Less Than 3 Clicks):

  1. First click: Head over to tablextract.io/extract after setting up your account.

  2. Second click: Upload your file, paste your screenshot, or snap a photo (if you’re on mobile).

  3. Third click: Click Extract and voilà – your table is ready!

You can always get back to it at tablextract.io/history and export the results in excel, JSON or even just copy it to your clipboard and immediately paste it in your spreadsheet.

🏗️ Built With

I built Tablextract using Nuxt, DaisyUI, Stripe, Vercel and Supabase.

If you have any feedback, recommendations, or just want to say hi, please drop a comment or send me an email at [email protected].

Thanks for taking the time to check out my first PH launch. I’m excited to hear your thoughts and learn from your feedback! ❤️
