Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Mustafe, Co-founder & CEO of TableTap.
Right now, Ethiopia is undergoing a massive economic shift with the new 2025/2026 digital and banking reforms. Everyone is racing to modernize, but my co-founders (Bereket, Mahder, Muhammed, Ammar) and I noticed a huge market gap: local restaurants are being completely left out. They are stuck choosing between chaotic pen-and-paper systems or extremely bloated, expensive hardware setups that don't fit their needs.
We built TableTap to fix this. It is a hyper-thin order management platform designed specifically for this transition. We don't force restaurants to buy heavy legacy hardware. Instead, we strip away the bloat and focus entirely on a seamless, lightweight ordering flow from the table directly to the kitchen.
We are currently running a pilot phase with 4 local restaurants to perfect this core ordering experience before integrating the new digital payment rails.
We're here to learn from other builders and operators, especially those who have built for emerging or rapidly digitizing markets. What is the smartest way to ensure adoption when introducing new software to a traditional brick-and-mortar space? Right now explaining what a Point of Sale is seems to be one of our biggest hurdles.
