Hey product hunt :-)
I built Tablemates because making friends as an adult can be quite challenging. Most apps that clean to help are either dating apps with the romance stripped out, or Zoom clones with a nicer coat of paint. Neither effectively promote friendships.
The idea: you join a small group of 6 to 8 people that means regularly on the same slot each week to share in an activity: a quiz, chess or other board games. Audio first, cameras off by default so there is no pressure to perform. You only ever move towards cameras on and 1:1 video calls with people you have actually spent time with.
Nothing is over recorded, that is a policy, not a footnote.
