I built TabCaster because I needed a simple way to document QA steps without the overhead of a full desktop app. It’s a Chrome extension that captures your current tab and system audio, with built-in blurring for sensitive data. The goal is just to make reproducing bugs and recording compliance audits as frictionless as possible.
I built TabCaster because I was tired of bloated screen recorders slowing down my workflow.
As a dev, I frequently need to record my screen to showcase a bug or share notes about a feature. All I wanted was a tool that was simple and reliable, with one crucial feature: the ability to quickly blur certain fields containing sensitive data (like API keys or internal info) right in the browser.
Existing tools were either too heavy or locked privacy features behind massive paywalls. So I built a lightweight, native Chrome extension to solve it myself.
