Synoptiv turns raw US market data into clear, versioned stock analysis: a verdict, the reasoning behind it, and the specific conditions that would change our mind. Built for individual investors. No hype, no urgency theater. Not investment advice.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
Synoptiv came out of a frustration that will be familiar to anyone who invests their own
money: there is no shortage of market data, and almost none of it tells you what to think.
You open fifteen tabs, read four contradictory takes, and end up making a decision on vibes
anyway.
The tools I tried mostly made this worse. Nearly all of them output a score — a number from
1 to 10, a letter grade, a "buy" badge. A score is not an argument. You cannot interrogate
it, you cannot tell what it assumed, and you cannot tell when it stops being true.
So Synoptiv writes an analysis instead. For each covered US stock: a verdict, the reasoning
behind it, and — the part I care most about — the specific conditions that would prove it
wrong. Falsifiable, not just confident.
Two things changed while building it.
The first was learning where AI actually helps. It is genuinely excellent at reading
everything — filings, transcripts, disclosures, news — which no individual has time to do
across a watchlist. It is genuinely bad at knowing what it doesn't know, and will state an
uncertain thing fluently. So the architecture ended up split: financial metrics are computed
deterministically from source data, and the model only writes the prose around numbers it
did not invent.
The second was accepting that "no trade" had to be a real output. Early versions always
produced a verdict, because a tool that shrugs feels broken. But a system that reaches a
clean conclusion on every company is not analyzing them — it is manufacturing confidence.
Most setups genuinely are unclear, and saying so is the honest answer.
Where it falls short today, plainly: coverage is ~106 symbols rather than the whole market,
there is no screener, and no mobile app. If you want to filter 5,000 tickers, this is the
wrong tool. If you want to actually understand 10 companies, it might be the right one.
Free while in trial. I would genuinely like to hear where the reasoning doesn't hold up —
that is the most useful feedback there is.
Synoptiv is analysis and education, not investment advice.
