Last year, I was working at a tech travel startup. On paper, it was exciting. In reality, it was exhausting. Most days stretched to 15 hours. Back-to-back meetings, constant pressure, and barely a moment to breathe. I felt drained all the time, but what made it harder was that I had moved 6,000 km away from my girlfriend to be there. She was at university, building her own life. And every night, we would finally get a chance to talk. But by then, I had nothing left. I remember those calls. She would be there, present and wanting to connect. And I would be quiet, low-energy, sometimes distant. Not because I did not care, but because I had already given everything I had. And the worst part was that there was no simple way to show her that. I could not point to anything and say, “It is not you. I have had 10+ meetings today, and I am completely drained.” So sometimes, it felt like the distance between us was not just physical. It was emotional too. I wished there was a way for her to see how I was feeling without me having to explain it when I was already exhausted. That is why I built this. A simple way for couples to share their social battery and understand each other’s energy, not just their words. Something that quietly says, “I am low today,” or “I have more to give right now.” A way to share calendars, see overlaps, and support each other better, especially on the hard days. I built it for couples like us. Because I know how much of a difference it would have made back then. Maybe we would have been more patient. More understanding. A little closer, even from 6,000 km away.
