A printed QR code is permanent. The page behind it isn't. Switchly lets you change where a link or QR code points after it's been shared or printed. Update a menu, campaign, event, or product link without replacing the code. Add analytics, UTM tracking, routing, custom domains, and A/B testing. Free forever: 100 links, 5,000 tracked clicks/month, unlimited QR codes, and unlimited destination changes. We don't meter the thing a dynamic QR code is for.
I kept hitting the same thing: a link goes out into the world on a menu, a flyer, the back of a box and then the page behind it moves. The link is the one part you can't edit.
So Switchly is built around the part that makes a link dynamic, and it doesn't meter it. Unlimited destination changes and unlimited QR codes on every plan, free included. That sounds like a small promise until you check the category: Bitly rations QR codes by the month, and Rebrandly rations destination edits ten a month, on a paid plan. Those are the exact things a dynamic QR code is for.
The approach changed twice while building it.
First, I stopped adding features. I'd reached parity with the big tools on the link layer and it changed nothing, because capability was never the problem.
Second, and more embarrassing: I found that QR scans had never been counted as scans. Every scan of every printed code we'd ever served was logged as an ordinary click. I'd been telling myself QR was our most-used feature on the basis of numbers that couldn't have told me that. It's fixed, but the honest answer to "what share of your traffic is scans?" is still: I don't know yet.
What's not here: conversion tracking, SSO, and a partner/affiliate platform. If you need those, dub or Bitly is the better call today.
Newest thing, shipped this week: scheduled destinations the link changes where it points on a date you set, so one printed code can carry a whole event from registration to livestream to feedback. I'd genuinely like to know whether that's useful or a solution looking for a problem. Tell me.

Who hunted Switchly?
Switchly was hunted by Yashvant Vala. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
