switch402 turns any URL into clean markdown with one POST, plus screenshots, web search and PDF to text. Pay per call in USDC on Base: no signup, subscription or API key. $0.008/page (lite $0.003); failed calls are free. Credits optional.
I kept paying for monthly scraping credits I didn't use.
Some months an agent needed 40 pages, some months 4,000. So switch402 works the other way round: one endpoint (POST /v1/scrape with {"url": ...}) returns clean markdown, and you pay per successful page: $0.008, or $0.003 on the lite route.
If a page fails, you aren't charged. There's no signup and no API key. Payment is a USDC micropayment on Base over the open x402 protocol (HTTP 402), so an AI agent with a wallet can call it directly. Behind the endpoint we route each request to a healthy provider and fail over automatically.
It's new, so treat capacity as beta. You can check a price first with the free /v1/quote endpoint without paying anything. The same pay-per-call setup now covers more than scraping: screenshots ($0.008 for the viewport, $0.012 for the full page), web search with up to 10 ranked results ($0.008), and PDF to text for public PDFs up to 50 pages ($0.008).
Same rule: you're only charged when a result comes back.
I'd really like feedback on the API shape, output quality on your hardest pages, and what you'd want next (batch? more tools?). If you'd rather hold a balance than pay per call, there are optional prepaid credit packs ($5, $20 or $50) and a $10 monthly lite plan, and balances don't expire. You don't need either to use it.

Hi PH, I'm Tim, and we built switch402.
I kept paying for monthly scraping credits I didn't use.

Honest limits: if you scrape tens of thousands of pages a month at a steady volume, a traditional monthly scraping plan can work out cheaper. Our calculator shows where the break-even sits against a Firecrawl plan: https://switch402.com/calculators/firecrawl-pay-per-call-alternative?utm_source=producthunt&utm_medium=launch&utm_campaign=ph_20261103
