Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built SweepDisk because my Downloads folder had 2000+ unsorted files and I was tired of doing it manually.
The key insight: with Apple Silicon's Neural Engine, we can run vision-language models locally that actually understand file content — not just
look at extensions. So an invoice PDF gets sorted differently from a research paper PDF, even though they're both .pdf files.
Everything runs offline. I'm a privacy-focused developer and believe your files are nobody's business but yours.
It's completely free — this is a passion project. I'd love your feedback on what features to prioritize next. Some ideas I'm considering:
- Duplicate file detection
- App uninstaller (clean up leftover files)
- Large file scanner
- Smart folder rules (like Mail rules, but for files)
