SutureSearch
100% Offline AI Image & Video Search for Any Windows PC.
SutureSearch brings next-gen local semantic search to any standard Windows PC—completely offline and standalone. No environment nightmares, no Python setups, and NO need to buy expensive new NPU hardware. Powered by an ultra-fast Rust core with local CLIP and OCR, it indexes and retrieves your screenshots, custom notes, and video segments in 1second based on natural visual concepts, protecting your absolute privacy. Just unzip and run.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Bob, a 19-year-old student and solo developer.
I built SutureSearch out of pure frustration. I have hundreds of gigabytes of screenshots and video materials, but almost all the cool AI semantic search tools are Mac-exclusive. On the Windows side, you are either forced to buy a $1000+ new Copilot+ PC, or upload your private data to the cloud.
I didn't want either. So I spent my nights building this.
SutureSearch is a 100% offline, portable (around 600MB 7zip) search engine for Windows. I used Rust (Tauri) for a blazing-fast UI, seamlessly linked to a completely isolated Python AI engine (CLIP + OCR) via a custom local asynchronous bridge.
Why you might like it:
🔒 No Cloud, No Subs: Your data stays 100% on your drive. Zero telemetry.
⚡ Hybrid Search: Combines Semantic AI + OCR text + your own Markdown notes.
🖼️ Visual Reverse Search: Select any local image to find visually & conceptually similar frames instantly across your drive.
🎬 Video Time-Slicing: It finds the exact second a scene appears in a video.
💻 Runs on Normal PCs: Auto-detects NVIDIA GPUs for CUDA acceleration, but gracefully degrades to multi-threading CPU mode for older laptops.
Note: I've put two standalone versions on Gumroad—a Global English Core (6.99)andaGlobalMulti−languageCore(10.98, equipped with heavy Chinese-localized AI weights).
It might not be perfect (I'm still learning!), but it’s a tool I use every day to keep my digital life sane. It's a simple, no-install .exe.
I would love to hear your feedback, roast my UX, or suggest features! Let me know what you think! 🚀
