Hi everyone — I'm Deep, the solo maker of Sustain.
I built Sustain because most focus apps felt wrong to me. They either shout at you with a giant countdown, guilt-trip you with streaks, or quietly harvest your data. I wanted the opposite: a calm, honest tool that treats focus as something you can actually train.
So it's built on one idea — focus is trainable, like a muscle. You do a deep Flow session, push through the awkward "struggle" phase into real flow, then take a phone-free break to recover. Over time your focus stamina grows and the app adapts to it. There's Pomodoro and a fully custom mode too.
The whole screen is one falling hourglass and nothing else — no clutter, no dopamine tricks. And it collects nothing: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, everything stays on your device. The core loop is free forever; Pro just adds deeper insights and extra themes.
It's Android-first — I'm bootstrapped and building on what I can afford, iOS comes as it grows. I'd genuinely love your honest feedback: does the "train your focus" framing land? What would make this your daily focus tool?

the falling hourglass is honestly such a nice touch, makes it feel calming instead of stressful. one thing i'd love is the option to log what you were working on after each session, like a tiny note field, so you can look back and see which tasks really broke your flow.
Honestly the falling hourglass animation is super satisfying, way better than those typical circular timers. Really liked the phone-free break nudge too, it actually made me put the phone down instead of just opening another app.
Love the phone-free break concept, that's a smart nudge. One thing I'd love to see is a weekly or monthly stamina recap, like a simple line chart showing your longest sessions and total focused hours, so I can actually see my progress over time and stay motivated.
