Super Stories
Make reading more engaging, meaningful, and personal
Super Stories helps parents keep children engaged, see what they understood, and start conversations about difficult topics. Our original stories combine interactive sounds with quizzes, conversation prompts, activities, and songs that reinforce each story’s message. Families can also rediscover enhanced classics such as A Christmas Carol or create a personalized story starring their child to gently explore a real challenge, complete with a custom cover.
Hi Product Hunt!
Super Stories started with a problem I experienced while reading to my child.
We used books with built-in sound buttons, but the sounds were often low quality, repetitive, and disconnected from the story. Pressing a button also interrupted the natural rhythm of reading. I wanted the sounds to support my child’s imagination without getting in the way of the book or the time we spent reading together.
I looked for a solution that would work with physical books and automatically play the right sounds at the right moments. I couldn’t find one, so I decided to build it myself.
Super Stories listens as a parent or child reads aloud and plays matching sound effects when specific phrases are spoken. Stories can also be printed, so families can enjoy the experience of holding and reading a physical story instead of replacing it with more screen time.
My long-term goal is to create dedicated, beautifully illustrated physical SuperStories books that work seamlessly with the app. Families can already print stories at home, but I want to offer books designed from the start to combine the warmth of traditional reading with interactive sounds and meaningful extras.
But sound was only the first problem I wanted to solve.
As parents, we do not always know how much of a story our child understood or how it made them feel. Asking “Did you like it?” rarely leads to a meaningful conversation. That is why our original stories include quizzes, activities, and carefully prepared conversation prompts. They help parents check comprehension, discover what captured their child’s attention, and turn reading into a real conversation.
Travel creates a different challenge. Audiobooks can keep children entertained, but listening is often passive. SuperStories combines audiobooks with quizzes and original songs connected to each story’s theme, giving children something to think about and discuss after listening.
Some subjects are also difficult to explain directly to a child. Fear, change, loneliness, confidence, or a new situation can be easier to understand through a story. Super Stories lets parents create a personalized story starring their own child and gently explore a challenge they are currently facing. The app also generates a personalized cover, helping the child feel that the story truly belongs to them.
I have always loved classic literature, and I wanted to make it more approachable for a new generation. SuperStories includes classics such as A Christmas Carol and Anne of Green Gables, enriched with sounds, quizzes, activities, and conversation prompts.
For most of the project, I focused primarily on Polish families and Polish content. Recently, I added support for six more languages so more families could experience SuperStories. The content libraries for these languages are still growing, and expanding them is now one of my main priorities.
I have been working on Super Stories for three years. The product has evolved through conversations with other parents, but the goal remains the same: help families make reading more engaging, understand their children better, and use stories to talk about things that may otherwise be difficult to express.
I’m incredibly proud that Super Stories received a Mobile Trends Award in the Education category in Poland. Still, I see this as the beginning rather than the finished product.

I would love to hear from parents and educators: what is the hardest part of keeping children engaged with stories, and what helps you start meaningful conversations after reading?

Who hunted Super Stories?
Super Stories was hunted by Patryk Kaflowski. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
