We're launching Sunday Planning 1.0 to learn how travellers like you plan trips. We built Sunday Planning around a simple belief: trip planning should feel like part of the journey, not a chore. Plans evolve. Ideas pile up. You discover something new and suddenly rethink the whole day. We're building a place for all of that. So you can spend less time organizing your trip and more time looking forward to it.

I've given this a go for our recent Croatia trip and a planned ski trip.

Love it. Especially the Kanban style day board. It makes it super clean and easy, especially when planning the trip between me and my wife!

Comment highlights

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Ryan, co-founder of Sunday Planning.

We built Sunday Planning because we found trip planning has become surprisingly fragmented. My co-founder, Laura, is a planner and an avid traveller who's experienced this frustration first hand. I am a product leader who loves to solve problems like this one.

Ideas and inspiration lives across TikTok, YouTube, blogs, Google Maps and conversations with friends. Plans end up in spreadsheets, notes and group chats. And if you're the person who usually plans the trip, a huge amount of the research, decisions and context ends up living in your head.

We wanted to build one place for the whole journey — from the first idea to the final itinerary.

A few things we built:
🗺️ Save inspiration from anywhere. Create lists of places you want to visit, share them with friends, or use our Chrome extension to pull recommendations directly from travel blogs, TikTok, YouTube, TripAdvisor and more.
👥 Plan together. Share ideas with your group, collect recommendations and vote on options without turning the trip into a committee meeting.
✈️ Start wherever you are. Begin with a blank trip, bring in reservations you've already made, or paste in the results of an AI planning session and build from there.
🧩 Plan your way. Everything starts tentative. As you make decisions, book reservations, buy tickets and schedule transportation, you progressively lock things into the plan.
🔄 Keep up when plans change. Add a day, swap a destination or change a reservation and see what else needs to be updated.

We're deliberately not trying to replace the planner with AI. Travel is personal, and the "best" trip is different for everyone. AI can generate ideas, answer questions and help you get started, but the traveller should remain in control of the decisions.
How we built it is a little different too.

I'm a product person rather than a developer, so we started with requirements, a data model and a clear definition of what each feature needed to accomplish.

We used AI to dramatically accelerate execution, but applied a very traditional product discipline to the process — breaking requirements into user-testable outcomes, building automated tests, and iterating feature by feature rather than asking AI to build an entire product in one shot.

We're proud of what we've built, but we're also too close to it. While we've iterated and tested with our own trips and a closed beta, there's still much to learn. This launch is our MVP of an end-to-end trip planning solution but other items on the roadmap include:
- Route optimization
- AI Suggested itinerary as a starting point
- Expanding on location details during voting
- In-Trip experience on mobile

If you're someone who plans your own trips, we'd love to know: What's still frustrating about planning a trip today? What are you still doing manually? And where does Sunday Planning miss the mark?

Good, bad or brutally honest, we'd genuinely love the feedback.
