Sueldo Listo
Understand your take-home pay and compare offers in Mexico
Estimate take-home pay in Mexico with 2026 ISR, IMSS and employment subsidy rules. Compare up to 3 job offers, review monthly payroll payments and export results as images. Free, in Spanish and English, with salary calculations in your browser.
Hi Product Hunt! I’m Shaoxiao, the maker of Sueldo Listo.
I started with a practical question: when a job offer in Mexico lists a gross salary, how much would actually reach your pocket?
Sueldo Listo estimates gross-to-net and net-to-gross pay, with separate ISR, IMSS and employment subsidy figures. It supports monthly, twice-monthly, weekly and daily pay, plus comparison of up to three job offers and image exports.
Feedback from people trying it on Reddit shaped the next step. One person described a much larger ISR withholding on the fifth weekly payment of a month. That led me to add a monthly payroll review tool: it helps organize payments and prepare a question for payroll, without claiming to prove that a deduction is wrong.
The product is free, has Spanish and English interfaces, and does not require an account. Salary calculations run in your browser. Methodology, official sources and assumptions are visible.
Current scope: ordinary wages for IMSS-affiliated employees, using minimum statutory benefits. ISSSTE, freelance/RESICO income and termination payments are not modeled. Estimates can differ from a real payslip.
If you work in Mexico or help people compare offers, I’d love your feedback: which part is hardest to understand—take-home pay, benefits, or changing payroll deductions?
Product update: clearer salary assumptions, shaped by local feedback 🇲🇽
Conversations on Reddit and LinkedIn continue to shape Sueldo Listo. A suggestion on LinkedIn helped me clarify the salary basis behind the IMSS estimate.
The result now explains: • Basic daily salary and estimated daily SBC. • The integration factor and minimum-benefit assumptions. • The contribution days used in the estimate.
These details are optional, so the main calculator stays simple. Image exports preserve the pay period and assumptions, too.
The estimate covers ordinary fixed wages for IMSS-affiliated employees using minimum statutory benefits. It does not reproduce every benefit or the SBC registered by an employer.
Another conversation highlighted commuting costs and time when comparing job offers. I’m exploring that as an optional comparison layer; it is not available yet. Learning opportunities would remain a personal judgment.
Free, in Spanish and English, with salary calculations in the browser and no account required.
If you work with Mexican payroll, is the salary-basis explanation clear enough to follow?
Product update: from community feedback to product improvements 🇲🇽
I built Sueldo Listo to answer a practical question: “If a job offer lists a gross salary, how much would I actually take home in Mexico?”
After sharing it on Reddit and LinkedIn, people brought up situations that helped shape the product:
→ Comparing a new offer with their current salary. → Getting paid every 14 days rather than twice a month. → Understanding why withholding can change in a month with five weekly payments. → Making sense of deductions when accepting a first job.
Those conversations informed the offer comparison tool, the 14-day pay option, the monthly payroll review tool, and the first-job-offer guide.
The latest update adds a public feedback section connecting those questions to the improvements and the original discussions. You can explore it in Spanish or English:
The tools are free, require no registration, and calculate in your browser. The main salary calculator estimates ordinary wages for IMSS-affiliated employees, with sources and assumptions explained.
If you’ve navigated a job offer or payroll in Mexico, what was the hardest part to understand? No need to share salary amounts or personal documents.
