Not willpower. I stopped trusting mine years ago. Every January I decided who I was going to be, and every February I had forgotten. Not quit — forgotten. The feed decided who I was before I did.
So I built sudo ego. It's an app blocker with one difference: there is no timer. Your chosen apps lock on your schedule, and the only way through is a ritual — you say who you decided to be, out loud, and the app listens and matches every word. Mumble it, and it stays locked. If you're not alone, you can type it instead. Same rule. No bypass.
The mechanism is the whole product: the brain deletes what you don't repeat. So the app makes forgetting impossible — you meet the person you decided to be every day, at the exact moment you'd normally reach for the feed.
My own phone still locks every morning. This is the card it makes me say out loud before it opens:
