Top comment

I built this because I kept needing it. I'm almost always multitasking during meetings, and it's easy to lose the thread. Having an always on caption UI helps me keep context and better follow through. It's not just for meetings though, whatever you will throw at it is fine: podcasts, lectures, videos. Anything you need captions for.
Fully local and private, running on the neural engine, and supporting 16 languages.

Comment highlights

Just added live translations in 16 languages to celebrate the PH launch. You can now have Apple Models (macOS 15+) translate your captions in real time. Press ctrl to temporarily switch back to the original language, in case the translation isn't cutting it.

This has been the top requested feature, and I wanted to drop it for the launch. Let me know if there is anything else you would like added.

Who hunted Subtitles?

Subtitles was hunted by Mathieu Jouhet. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
