I'm a solo founder in the UK. Last year the UK passed the DMCCA: from Spring 2027 every subscription business selling to UK consumers must send renewal reminders before charging, make cancellation easy, and be able to prove both - with fines up to 10% of global turnover.
Most Shopify merchants I spoke to had no idea this was coming. Their billing apps (Recharge, Appstle, Loop...) handle payments brilliantly, but none of them are built to be a compliance record.
So I built the missing layer:
- Pre-renewal reminder emails timed to each plan - daily, weekly, monthly, annual (long plans get multiple notices, as the law expects)
- A 0-100 readiness score for your Privacy / Terms / Subscription / Refund pages, with fix notes
- A dated, exportable audit trail - which happens to be exactly what card issuers ask for in "subscription cancelled" chargeback disputes
The chargeback part pays off today; the compliance part means you're ready before enforcement starts.
