I built SubLocal because I was tired of uploading my personal videos to cloud services just to get subtitles. Every tool I found required an internet connection and sending files to some server — that felt wrong for private videos, meeting recordings, and family clips.
So I made SubLocal to run AI speech recognition entirely on-device. No internet needed, no files ever leave your phone. Just open the app, pick a video, and get SRT subtitles in seconds.
