Hi! I'm Charlie, the developer behind Study Card AI and I study a computer science degree.
Spaced reptation and active recall are extremely effective study techniques, and I use them frequently through Anki to prepare for exams. I found myself spending days creating flashcards rather than actually learning the material - and working as a software engineer alongside university, I value my time highly.
To solve this problem, I created a simple rails app to take a PDF of my lecture material and create flashcards from it, with direct import into Anki. This has already saved me hours and I want to share it with other people.
This is currently developed to suit my use case, so I'm looking for feedback and to communicate with users to improve/add features to make this as useful as possible.
I’m keeping costs low, just enough to cover Heroku and OpenAI, so the free plan includes 1 deck with the option to add more at a minimal cost.
