Street Whisperer
Turn your next city walk into a personal audio tour
Walk past a beautiful building and wonder what happened there? Street Whisperer turns nearby landmarks, architecture and hidden corners into audio stories. Wander freely or pick a duration and theme for a tailored walk. New: museum mode with major works explained one by one, weekly rankings and a play button right on your lock screen. Ask your AI guide follow-up questions. iPhone and Android, 15 languages. Free to start, no account required.
Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Niels, the solo maker of Street Whisperer.
There are places we walk past for years without knowing their stories. I built Street Whisperer to make those everyday discoveries easier, whether you’re visiting a city or rediscovering your own.
Open the app, find a nearby place that catches your eye, and start its audio story. Then look up and enjoy what’s around you.
Three ways to explore:
• Wander freely: nearby places come to you as you walk. When one catches your ear, press play right from your lock screen, no need to unlock your phone.
• Make the walk yours: choose a duration and a theme, from architecture to history or nature, and follow a tailored route.
• Step into a museum: follow its major works one by one, or a route that fits your time. The building itself has its own guided tour.
A detail sparks another question? Ask the guide in context. Save places you want to return to, see the areas you’ve explored and compare your week with other walkers.
The interface, stories and voices support 15 languages. It’s available on iPhone (iOS 18+) and Android, and free to start without an account: 7 guided visits and 7 questions to the guide. After that, a one-time pack that never expires, or the Flâneur monthly plan.
A little context: stories are generated by AI and can contain errors; discovery depends on local data, and new stories and natural voices need internet.
For your first try, pick one place you normally walk past. Then tell me your city and one thing the experience made you notice — or where it fell short. Your real walks are the feedback that will help me improve it.
Just used Street Whisperer when discovering the old town of La Coruña. Very easy to use. Immediately gives a simple description of the place we’re passing by. More details on request. Great !

Easy to use, allows to discover places otherwise you would have walked by without noticing
